World-Leading Green Star Result for Tauranga City Station
The rating represents World Leadership in sustainable building design and is a fantastic result for the project team... and, importantly, a first for a fire station in New Zealand.
The New Zealand Green Building Council recognised the achievement as an example of leadership in green building, reflecting the high level of thinking, coordination and commitment that has gone into the project from the outset.
For DCA, it’s a result we’re incredibly proud of. Achieving 6 Green Star requires sustainability to be embedded across the design rather than treated as an add-on, with careful consideration of energy, materials, water, indoor environmental quality, construction processes and long-term building performance.
It’s also a great reflection of the way we like to work at DCA Architects of Transformation:
With. Together. For.
With our client, consultants and project partners.
Together, through a genuinely collaborative design and delivery process.
For a more sustainable, resilient and enduring building for Fire and Emergency New Zealand and the Tauranga community.
With the Tauranga City Station now moving into construction, this certification is an important milestone and a real reflection of the collective effort behind the project.
A brilliant result for everyone involved!
