Stepping Up: A Catch-Up with Nandia

With Nandia stepping into her new role as Principal Partner, we caught up with her to talk about what she’s looking forward to, what has kept her at DCA, and a few of the moments that have meant the most along the way.

From client relationships and mentoring the team to complex projects and, importantly, Friday morning teas... here’s what Nandia had to say.

What are you most looking forward to stepping into with the new role?

—

“For me, this role is all about deepening the wonderful relationships we’ve built with our clients and I look forward to adding value in this space. I’m also excited to keep introducing smarter, smoother internal systems that make working with DCA even better. Just as importantly, I would also like to focus on mentorship within the firm as investing in our team’s growth and helping others thrive is close to my heart.

”

What has kept you at DCA, and what do you value most about working here?

—

“What kept me at DCA is the incredible company ethos. From day one, it was clear that management lead by example, keeping empathy at the forefront of everything they do.

That culture made a massive difference early in my career. It facilitates genuine flexibility and supportive space to grow my young family whilst maintaining professional momentum. They gave me a powerful vote of confidence to grow, challenge myself, and truly step into my own shoes. It is a rare blend of genuine care and professional trust that makes DCA so special.”

What’s one project, moment or achievement at DCA that you’re particularly proud of?

—

“While there are so many meaningful moments to look back on, leading the new Performance Health and Wellness Centre at Hamilton Girls’ High School has be a highlight. It has been by far the most complex and exciting project of my career. The design threw several challenges our way, demanding constant pivoting and problem solving. I am proud of how my team stepped up, delivering exceptional documentation under tight time-frames. What makes it even more special is the way our consultants, contractors and stakeholders came together, strengthening relationships and demonstrating the true value of collaboration. I can’t wait to hand over this amazing, transformational facility to the school community very soon!”

Finish the sentence: “The best thing about working at DCA is…”

“Friday morning teas!

A weekly highlight filled with plenty of laughs, stories from the week gone by, and plans for weekend adventures. It’s a chance to catch up, connect and enjoy each other’s company. More than just morning tea, it’s a much-loved tradition and an important part of our DCA team culture!”
